What Is S355J2W Corten Plates
S355J2W+N is a medium tensile, low carbon manganese weathering steel which is readily weldable and possess good impact resistance, including in low temperatures. This material is commonly supplied in the untreated or normalized condition. Machinability of this material is similar to that of mild steel. S355J2W is equivalent to Cor Ten B steel plate. S355J2W is also used in cold rolled steel profiles, which are hot-dipped galvanized. It has a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa and an impact energy at -20C of 27J. This type of steel is commonly used in outdoor structures where the opportunities for inspection are minimal or non-existent, and where weathering steel would be likely to out-perform alternative materials in their service life.
